You can choose between white mode, colour mode, and there's also themes which will animate and change the LEDs to match the effect you choose. A quick software update on the lights kicked in, and about 1 minute later I was playing around with colours, animations, and brightness. If you've set up a smart socket or light in the past, this process with be familiar to you. I got the app, configured the wifi, and I was connected in a few short steps. I had to look away because they were so bright, and this was in a fully lit room. I was taken back right away by how bright these were. I connected the 2 strips, hooked them up to the power supply, and plugged it in. So, I took the power supply and LED strips out of the box (a nicely packaged set of lights), and before I set it up and stuck the strip down, I decided to test the lights out so that I could figure out where I was going to put them. I saw a Youtube video of a guy talking about these and I thought, you know what? I'll give them a try, worst case scenario, I can stick them in the shed. I thought Phillips hue was king when it came to LED/RGB lighting, not any more. So these lights are the lights you want to get.
